Available Retired Dogs 🐶

Thank you for your interest in one of our retired dogs. We take the process of finding the perfect home for them very seriously.

We will require:
A veterinary reference and 2 non-family references to vouch for your quality of care and ability to provide a safe and loving home.

Please read each description carefully to make sure your family would be a good fit. To begin the application process, please call Darcy directly at 309-275-2623 and I can ask/answer questions.

Murphy Mae

Murphy Mae is a 6-year-old standard black & white parti poodle. She has entered into retirement and is looking to be someone's queen bee.

Due to being an unaltered female for the first five years of her life and part of a pack with several other unaltered females, we think Murphy Mae would thrive best in a single-dog home. She would love to have all the snuggles, love, and attention to herself without having to share as she has thus far.

She is crate-trained, potty-trained, and good at the groomer—except for nail trimming, which requires an assistant to help during that part. Murphy loves attention, craves cuddles, and likes to follow her person around. If she ever gets scolded, she smiles a huge (and quite hideous) grin, showing no poker face.

She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her shots. Murphy loves kids but also has a habit of swallowing socks or underwear. A home with tidy children or older kids who can keep their socks and other small items in a hamper would be best for her safety. She also enjoys chewing up stuffed toys, so she requires dog toys that are more of a Nylabone consistency.

Murphy has always had access to a large fenced-in yard and, therefore, has not done much on-leash walking, though she does enjoy going on walks. A fenced-in yard or a commitment to daily exercise would be required for her.

We will also require vet references, character references, and a phone interview for any interested candidates.

Finley Jo

Finley Jo is a 6-year-old chocolate merle poodle. She has entered into retirement and is looking to be someone's one and only.

Due to being an unaltered female for the first five years of her life and part of a pack with several other unaltered females, we think Finny would thrive best in a single-dog home. She would love to have all the snuggles, love, and attention to herself without having to share as she has had to thus far.

She is crate-trained, potty-trained, and good at the groomer. She loves to sit on the couch like a person and watch TV. She is very smart and loves snacks.
